GDC was great but now what?

Kicking off my post-GDC week, I figured I’d share some of my takeaways and game plans for what I plan on doing with what I learned at the event. I wanted to also do a more honest take on what I heard and how I want to realign myself with my passion.

So here are my brass-tax points:

♡ To call the industry competitive is an understatement. People take their craft seriously, and if you are serious about breaking in, you have to as well

♡ Learn to gauge your skill level and always be willing to learn how to expand on them

♡ Not everyone will understand you/be willing to chat and that is okay! Be strong in who you are and what you represent

♡ Understand that there are many ways to get to the same point, just because someone else took a certain path doesn’t mean you have to

♡ It’s okay to feel like you don’t know anything, you’re doing the right thing
